The French alphabets  is based on the Latin alphabet. It consists of the same 26 letters as the modern English alphabet. 
However, they also have  the letters with diacritics / accents . Diacritics are sign, such as an accent or cedilla, which when written above or below a letter that indicates a difference in pronunciation from the same letter when unmarked or differently marked.
