Course Description
A short course to cover all aspects of wound management. This includes the physiology of wound healing, the pathology that can arise from wounds and the principles involved in the management of wounds.

Course duration: 2 weeks
Estimated time per week: 2 hours
Target audience: Any medical/nursing student or medical professional
Pre-requisites: Basic knowledge of wounds
Assessment: quiz and reflection

1. Describe the pathophysiology of wounds
2. Describe the different types of wounds
3. Execute the management of all types of wounds

Week/module 1: Clinical sciences involved in the management of wounds
Topics: 1. Physiology of wound healing
2. Factors affecting wound healing/pathology
3. Types of wounds
Week/module 2: Approach to wound management
Topics: 1. Steps in dealing with wounds: clean vs contaminated
2. Wound dressing
3. Wound closure

There will be 5 sections to this course.
For week 1, topics 1 and 2 will be in section 1), and topic 3 will be in section 2).
For week 2, topic 1 will be in section 3), topic 2 in section 4), and topic 3 in section 5).
It is recommended to go through each numbered section sequentially for a better understanding. For each section, there will be a video lecture, and this may be accompanied by some lecture notes and assessment questions/quiz.
At the final part of this webpage, there will be a list of websites, YouTube videos and other online resources where you can peruse for additional reading, viewing and etc. to aid in your understanding and learning in this course.
