What are possessives adjectives ?
Les adjectifs possessifs are words used to designate ownership or to express possession.
Let's look at the example of possessives adjectives in English for you to understand better . The words "my, your , his , her " are examples of possessives adjectives in English.
if you want to say that an object belongs to you.. then , you say : This is my book or This is my pen or These are my books.
If you want to say an object belongs to Sylvia , then you can say : This is her car or This is her house or These are her clothes.
In English, the use of possessives adjectives are quite straight forward.
BUT, the possessives adjectives , in the French Language, need to follow in gender and in number of the object owned. And before looking at the gender and number of the object, we must determine first its owner .
